New Year Accommodation on Mull

Celebrate New Year in Achaban House in Fionnphort on the magical Isle of Mull. Achaban House is the perfect venue to gather your favourite people for a traditional New Year celebration. The house is very atmospheric with lots of space and cosy wood burning stoves for seasonal socialising. A New Year booking is a minimum of 4 nights anytime between December 27th 2018 and 3rd January 2019. The cost per night is £350.00 for a group of up to 14 guests in 6 rooms; 5 rooms are ensuite, 1 room has a private bathroom . Please contact us direct to discuss a whole house booking for New Year.

Achaban House has a secluded setting within 6 acres of grounds, near the village of Fionnphort. The spacious kitchen, dining and living areas are ideal for a group gathering. There is a drying/laundry room and cycle storage for the energetic and plenty of car parking space on site. If your group is larger than 14 guests, we team up with Ross of Mull Bunkhousewhich is located next door and can provide another 8 beds. 

On New Year’s Day, hardy locals and visitors strip off and dive into the Sound of Iona from Fionnphort Pier and its up to you to decide whether to watch or take part! In the early afternoon, a game of Shinty takes place on Ardanalish Beach – not to be missed. There is often a local ceilidh or two on the 3rd or 4th of January or you can arrange your own!

There are many wonderful beaches near Fionnphort to take a walk along to blow away the cobwebs and the effects of the festive season over-indulgence. It is also possible to take the ferry to Iona for a visit although note that it doesn’t run on New Year’s Day. Wildlife is very visible in winter and your first foot may well be a red deer!.
