Traigh na Margaidh (Market Bay) on the north coast of the Ross of Mull is further along the coastline from Camus Tuath. To reach Market Bay requires a two mile walk from the main road, starting at the sign for Camus Tuath, but the beautiful beach and views to North Mull and Staffa are well worth the effort. Because of its seclusion, Market Bay is a good spot for otters, seals and many bird species. There are two sandy beaches, one of which is accessible only at low tide, with beautiful machair grassland edging the coastline. Historically, Market Bay was where cattle from Coll, Tiree and Iona were landed on their way to the mainland cattle markets. In the past it was also a favourite stopover for the Royal Family on board Royal Yacht Brittania, attractive by the privacy afforded by its remoteness as well as its beauty.
