Scoor Beach is in a stunning hidden cove which is more difficult to reach via a bumpy track and a short hike across moorland with no path. However, this means you will probably have the beach all to yourself. To reach Scoor, take the A849 just east of Bunessan and follow the road along the side of Loch Assapol. The last part of the road is a very rough track to the car park at Kilvickeoun. We will provide you with a map and advice on how to reach Scoor Beach and Cave. The going is rough and steep but not too far and the reward is a unique coastline of sandy beach and rocky coves. Scoor Cave has a dramatic presence with a superb view from the mouth of the cave. The rock carvings are said to date from 2,000 - 3,000bc.This is also the access point for the deserted township of Shiaba, a longer walk, a few miles beyond Scoor Beach.
