Uisken Beach is easily accessible by car and is very picturesque. There are lots of rocky coves to explore and the shallow bays are ideal for paddling, swimming and boating. The turnoff for Uisken is near Bunessan; pass the turnoff for Ardalanish and the road ends at Uisken, a crofting township with houses dotted around a lovely sandy bay,.with a small car park right beside the beach. At the east end of the beach there is a trail to the top of a hill and a cairn called “The Last Look Back” because it was a stopping point for funerals. There are expansive views out over the sea to the islands of Colonsay, Jura and Islay. In the fields behind the beach are the ruins of the abandoned township of Am Fam where the outlines of lazybeds and terraces for the growing of crops can still be seen.
