Located a mile from Fionnphort, Fidden Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand with a wide, shallow, sandy bay. It is very accessible from the road and is a safe playground for families paddling and playing on the sand - one of the reasons that Fidden Campsite is so popular. It is also ideal for kayaking, wild swimming and is perfectly placed for viewing sunsets. The extensive beach and surrounding landscape is attractively dotted with pink granite outcrops in the fields and along the coastline. Seals are often seen at close quarters, basking on the rocks or swimming in the shallow waters. Mountain hare, and the rare corncrake have also been seen, as well as a variety of birdlife. Walking further east along the beach to access further secluded sandy bays, the crossing point for Erraid at low tide and to link up with the circular walk around Pottie.
